We have an impressive 8,000 square foot indoor facility equipped with three 70' cages, a weight room, and five mounds. This indoor space provides ample room for year-round practice, allowing you to hone your skills regardless of the weather conditions. Additionally, our beautiful outdoor baseball field is the perfect setting for games and showcases.

Comprehensive Training Programs: We have designed comprehensive training programs that focus on individual skill development, tactical understanding, and strategic play. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, our programs are tailored to meet your specific needs and foster continuous improvement.

TEAM

 

Each team will consist of 12-16 players chosen from the tryout process. Depending on the athletes that participate at the tryout. 

PRACTICE

 

Teams will practice 2-3 times a week for 90 minutes to 2 hours during the season. There will be campos throughout the season.

PLAYER SELECTION

 

Player will be evaluated by coaches and evaluators at the tryout. The evaluation process includes an assessment of individual skills, throwing, fielding, catching, baseball IQ, game concepts, communication skills, and sportsmanship. 

FEES

 

Families are expected to pay monthly club dues by the 1th day of each month. We ask that parents to not give cash to any member of the 208 Baseball staff. 
 

COACHES

Head Coach : Ben Gaff is currently playing College Baseball at College of Idaho. He plays infield and pitches. Gaff is in his second season with the Coyote baseball program. Appeared in 56 games for the Yotes, hitting .301 with one home run and 28 RBIs. Struck out 45 batters on the mound in 2022. He is studying business.

Assistant Coach : Kaden Lapp is also playing at College of Idaho with Ben Gaff. Lapp is in his first season with the Coyote baseball program. He was named to the CCC All-Academic Team. A 2021 graduate of Alta High in Utah, where he was a 4-year member of the varsity program; as a senior, went 5-3 with a 3.17 ERA on the mound, while hitting .315. He is Studying business.

EXTRA GAMES

Coaches can schedule scrimmages and games as they see fit. The owner of 208 does not decide on when scrimmages/practices are. That is done by the coaches of the 16U Team. If an umpire is needed to pay for a scrimmage players may be asked to pay 5-10 Per Scrimmage for umpires. 

REFUNDS

 

Registration Fees: Registration fees are non-refundable except under the following circumstances: If the player is unable to participate due to a medical condition or injury, a pro-rated refund may be given upon receipt of a doctor's note. If the team cancels the season or is unable to place a player on a team, a full refund will be given. 

Uniform Fees: Uniform fees are non-refundable once the uniform has been ordered. If a player decides not to participate after the uniform has been ordered, they will still be responsible for paying the uniform fee.

Tournament Fees: Tournament fees are non-refundable once the team has been registered for a tournament. If a tournament is cancelled by the hosting organization, a full refund will be given.

Practice and Training Fees: Practice and training fees are non-refundable except under the following circumstances:

  • If the player is unable to participate due to a medical condition or injury, a pro-rated refund may be given upon receipt of a doctor's note.

  • If the team cancels the practice or training session, a make up may be subject to the coaches discretion. 

Refund Request: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the team manager or coach. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that refunds may take up to two weeks to process. If you have any questions or concerns about our refund policy, please do not hesitate to contact us.

PLAYER POLICY

  1. Conduct and Attitude: All players are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on themselves and the team. Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship, respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials, and demonstrate a positive attitude.

  2. Attendance: Attendance at practices and games is mandatory. Players are expected to attend all practices and games unless there is an acceptable reason for absence, such as a medical condition or a family emergency. If a player cannot attend a practice or game, they must inform the coach as soon as possible.

  3. Equipment and Uniforms: Players are responsible for their own equipment and uniforms. Players must bring all necessary equipment to practices and games and ensure that their uniforms are clean and in good condition.

  4. Safety: Players are expected to take all necessary precautions to ensure their own safety and the safety of their teammates. Players should report any injuries or medical conditions to the coach immediately.

  5. Eligibility: All players must meet eligibility requirements as determined by the league or governing body. Players must provide proof of age and residency, if required.

  6. Code of Conduct: All players must agree to abide by the team's code of conduct, which includes but is not limited to rules regarding alcohol, drugs, and other illegal activities. 

  7. Discipline: Any player who violates team policies or the code of conduct will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension or removal from the team.

  8. Communication: Players are expected to communicate with coaches and teammates in a respectful and timely manner.

  9. Parental Support: Parents are expected to support the team and the coaches in a positive and constructive manner. Parents should communicate any concerns or questions to the coaches directly and in a respectful manner.

  1. Respect: Treat coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators with respect at all times. Display good sportsmanship, both on and off the field, and maintain a positive attitude.

  3. Fair Play: Play by the rules and abide by the principles of fair play. Avoid cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or engaging in any actions that may give the team an unfair advantage.

  4. Commitment: Show dedication and commitment to the team by attending practices, games, and team events regularly and punctually. Notify the coach in advance if unable to attend any scheduled activities.

  5. Effort and Attitude: Give your best effort in every practice and game. Maintain a positive and determined attitude, even in challenging situations. Be open to learning, accept constructive feedback, and strive for continuous improvement.

  6. Communication: Communicate with coaches and teammates in a respectful and constructive manner. Express concerns or ideas appropriately and listen actively to others. Foster open and effective communication within the team.

  7. Self-Control: Manage your emotions and reactions during games and practices. Avoid engaging in verbal or physical confrontations with opponents, teammates, officials, or spectators. Maintain composure and focus on the game.

  8. Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and others. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by coaches. Report any unsafe conditions or injuries promptly.

  9. Personal Conduct: Represent the team and the sport with dignity and integrity. Avoid engaging in any behavior that brings discredit to yourself, the team, or the sport. Be mindful of your actions both on and off the field.

  10. No Alcohol or Drugs: Refrain from the use, possession, or distribution of alcohol, illegal drugs, or unauthorized substances. This prohibition applies during team activities, practices, games, and any other team-related events.

  11. Role Model: Understand that as a player, you have the opportunity to be a role model for younger athletes. Conduct yourself in a manner that sets a positive example for others, both within the team and in the community.

NO HECKLING UMPIRES

  1. Respect for Officials: Parents and players are expected to show respect and support for game officials, including umpires, at all times. Heckling, derogatory comments, or disrespectful behavior towards umpires will not be tolerated.

  2. Positive Behavior: Parents and players should exhibit positive behavior and sportsmanship throughout the game. Encourage and applaud good plays by both teams while refraining from any behavior that may incite negative emotions or disrupt the game.

  3. Focus on Team Support: Parents and players should direct their energy towards cheering and supporting their own team rather than directing negative comments towards umpires. Show encouragement and respect for teammates, coaches, and opponents throughout the game.

  4. Private Concerns: If a parent or player has concerns or disagreements with a call made by an umpire, it is important to address those concerns privately and through appropriate channels. Engaging in public arguments or confrontations with umpires is not acceptable.

  5. Dispute Resolution: If a parent or player strongly disagrees with a call or believes an error has been made, they should follow the established procedures for addressing such concerns. This may involve contacting the league or submitting a formal complaint through the appropriate channels provided by the organizing body.

  6. Sportsmanship Education: Parents and players should actively promote sportsmanship values and educate themselves about respecting the authority of umpires. Engage in discussions about the importance of fair play and the role of officials in the game.

  7. Consequences: Any parent or player who violates this rule may face consequences, including warnings, temporary suspension from attending games, or permanent removal from the team's activities, as determined by the team's coaching staff or the league.

  8. Support the Team: Parents and players should focus on supporting their team by providing encouragement, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Show respect towards teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents, contributing to the overall success and enjoyment of the game for everyone involved.

24-HOUR RULE

  1. Purpose: The purpose of this 24-hour no contact rule is to encourage respectful and constructive communication between parents/players and the coach. It allows for a cooling-off period before addressing any concerns, ensuring that conversations are conducted in a calm and productive manner.

  2. Respectful Observation: If a parent or player has concerns regarding playing time, team strategy, or any other matter, they are encouraged to observe the situation and reflect on their concerns before reaching out to the coach.

  3. Cooling-Off Period: If a parent or player feels upset or frustrated, it is important to wait at least 24 hours before initiating contact with the coach. This period allows for emotions to settle and for a more objective and constructive conversation to take place.

  4. Constructive Communication: When the 24-hour period has elapsed, parents/players may contact the coach to discuss their concerns or issues. It is expected that all communication is conducted in a respectful and constructive manner, focusing on finding solutions rather than placing blame.

  5. Scheduled Meeting: If a face-to-face meeting is required, it is recommended to schedule a mutually convenient time to have a dedicated conversation. This ensures that the coach can give their undivided attention and address concerns effectively.

  6. Written Communication: When contacting the coach, it is preferable to use written communication such as email or text messages to outline the concerns in a clear and organized manner. This allows the coach to review and respond thoughtfully.

  7. Confidentiality: All conversations between parents/players and the coach should remain confidential unless explicitly agreed upon otherwise. Respecting privacy builds trust and promotes a positive team environment.

  8. Conflict Resolution: Both parties should approach the conversation with an open mind and a willingness to find solutions. Active listening, understanding different perspectives, and seeking common ground are crucial for effective conflict resolution.

  9. Proper Channels: Parents should avoid discussing their concerns with other parents, players, or individuals outside the team before addressing them with the coach. Direct communication is key to resolving issues effectively.

  10. Continued Support: Regardless of the outcome of the conversation, parents/players should continue to support the team and adhere to the team's policies and guidelines. Maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere benefits everyone involved.

NON-PAYMENT CONSEQUENCES

  1. Dues Payment Requirement: All players are required to pay the designated team dues within the specified timeframe. These dues contribute to team expenses, such as facility rentals, equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, and other necessary costs.

  2. Eligibility Criteria: To maintain eligibility to play, players must fulfill their financial obligations by making timely and complete payments of the team dues.

  3. Coach's Discretion: The coach reserves the right to enforce consequences for non-payment, including the temporary suspension of a player from participating in team activities, practices, and games until the outstanding dues are paid.

  4. Communication and Reminders: The team management or coaching staff will provide clear communication and reminders regarding payment deadlines and expectations. It is the responsibility of the player and their parents/guardians to stay informed about the due dates and take appropriate action to fulfill their financial commitments.

  5. Confidentiality: The financial information of players and their families will be treated with strict confidentiality. The coach and team management will only discuss payment matters with the individuals directly involved.

  6. Payment Plans and Special Circumstances: If a player or their family is experiencing financial hardship or needs assistance with payment arrangements, they are encouraged to communicate with the coach or team management. Special considerations may be given on a case-by-case basis, with the aim of finding a mutually acceptable solution.

  7. Team Unity and Fairness: Upholding the payment requirement ensures fairness among all team members and helps maintain the financial stability of the team. It encourages responsibility, commitment, and accountability from players and their families.

  8. Reinstatement: Once the outstanding dues are paid, the player's eligibility will be reinstated, allowing them to fully participate in team activities, practices, and games.

  9. Consequences for Non-Payment: If a player consistently fails to fulfill their financial obligations without prior communication or arrangement, further consequences may be enforced, including potential permanent removal from the team roster.

FEES

 

PLAYER FEES = $1200. This fee is for the 208 Aces to pay for the coaches, tournaments, uniforms, and facility. No other fees will be added unless there is an extra scrimmage which then coaches will need $5-10 extra dollars per scrimmage. The only additional fee is that of the Facility Usage Fee where players can workout anytime through the 2023 season for only $208. No jersey fee or other fees will be included. 

 

FACILITY USAGE

 

As we gear up for the 2023 season, we want to remind you that 208 Baseball & Softball is a non-profit organization that strives to maintain the best facilities in Idaho. To help cover the costs of cleaning and maintaining our facilities, we are offering players the option to use our facilities for the upcoming season for a fee of $208.

This fee is not included with joining 208 Baseball & Softball, and is only for the player's use. Players are able to use the facilities whenever there are no other teams scheduled to use them. We do monitor the facilities and have the right to remove anyone who is not using the facilities appropriately. Please note that the use of the facilities is strictly for players only, and no other friends or players can come with them. However, a parent or teammate may accompany the player. If anything is broken or needs attention, please inform one of the coaches. We take great pride in maintaining our facilities and want to ensure that they are always in top condition. In addition, we have partnered with Blast Motion, a batting sensor that tracks all your movements while hitting. We believe that Blast Motion can provide instant feedback to our players, and can even be used during live games. The cost of the sensor is $120 with our discount, with a yearly fee of $60. However, please note that purchasing a Blast Motion sensor is completely optional.

COMMUNICATION

Effective communication is key to a successful and well-coordinated team. At 208 Baseball, we value clear and timely communication to ensure that everyone is informed and prepared for practices, games, and other important team events. To streamline our communication efforts, we will be utilizing a powerful tool called TeamSnap. TeamSnap is a user-friendly mobile and web application that will serve as our primary communication platform. It offers a convenient and efficient way for coaches, players, and parents to stay connected and receive essential information related to our baseball activities.

 

Here's how TeamSnap will benefit our team:

Instant Updates: Through TeamSnap, you will receive instant updates about practice schedules, game times, locations, and any changes to the plan. This ensures that everyone is on the same page and eliminates any confusion or miscommunication.

Event Details: TeamSnap provides all the necessary details about upcoming events, including what to wear, required equipment, and any additional instructions specific to each practice or game. This ensures that players arrive prepared and ready to participate.

Attendance Tracking: Coaches can easily track player attendance through TeamSnap. It allows us to gauge the availability of each player for practices and games, which aids in planning and ensuring that we have a full and committed team.

Team Roster and Contacts: TeamSnap provides a comprehensive team roster, including player and parent contact information. This makes it easy to reach out to fellow teammates, coaches, or parents when needed, fostering better collaboration and connectivity within our team.

Communication Channels: TeamSnap offers various communication channels, such as group messaging and individual chats, making it easy to connect with coaches, teammates, and parents privately or as a group. This enhances our ability to address specific concerns or share important information efficiently.

 

To ensure effective communication and team coordination, all players are required to download the TeamSnap app on their mobile devices. It is a free app available for both iOS and Android platforms. Once you have downloaded the app, you will receive an invitation to join our team on TeamSnap. We strongly encourage all parents to join TeamSnap as well, as it allows you to stay up-to-date with team-related information, receive important announcements, and engage in meaningful conversations with other parents and coaches. By doing so, you will have access to accurate and timely information, helping us maintain a well-informed and unified team.
